CONCERTS!

haha. went for 2 concerts recently.

1. dunman high co concert.
always knew that dunman high was some imba orchestra who gets gold with honours every syf without fail. so mm... was late (not as usual) lol... mm... as in i thought i would be. went on the train with 30mins left to get to vch from bishan. haha. saw esther there who was going to meet some friend and she was late as well. haha. erm. anyway, i did some planning beforehand, finding out the exit and stuff so that i could have a fast run to vch. did me good in the end as i managed to find my way to vch although it was my first time going from raffles place mrt instead of city hall mrt. haha so reached there just in time for the concert. mm.. liked their first piece, guzheng piece, perc piece and encore piece. IMBA. for the first time, i liked guzheng ensembles, probably cuz there were 25 people unlike RI's usual 1 or 2. mm... the suona piece was also rather good i guess but the perc piece was the most impressive.

2. swiss cottage co concert
IMBA! lol. Swiss cottage co was total ownage. haha. i don't know how the practice but they managed to come up with more dazu pieces the our concert. RARH! haha. and all damn nice and damn pro. starting with qing dian which was imba except some screw ups in the 慢板. den, 台湾追想曲 was rather good as well. haha. no screw ups by the xylophone player unlike me when i was in sec 2. mm the pieces after that were average. intermission was funny cuz liwei, cui cheng and me were randoming around, throwing stones into the "reflection point" place which is actually a pond. and getting chased away by some security guard. BUT, after intermission, i must say that ALL their songs were good. ok. TECHNOLOGY for one was a DAMN NICE perc piece. WOAH. i was so impressed. damn it. i want the scores. everyone was so imba there especially the glock player, the timp player and the paigu player. RARH. ok. den after that, the cello/bass piece was rather good as well as it was rather new unlike the usual boring classical music. (lumpy, don't read this). mm. after that, the pieces were rather good but not as impressive with yangqin's turkey march and 2 dazu pieces with jiang jun ling being the better i thought. but the main point was the ENCORE! omg. they had THREE encore pieces starting with ju hua tai, before some imba rhythmic song which i completely love. i love rhythmic songs. and last but not least a jazz piece. the atmosphere was totally great. i actually wanted to go talk to their PERC SL but as i said to liwei, it was a bit like "some fan chasing a celebrity". haha. erm. the atmosphere was much better than the dunman high co concert maybe because we watched the matinee concert for dunman high's co. AND the pieces were much nicer. OMG. TECHNOLOGY! RARH! i want the scores. i'm so going to get some swiss cottage co contact to give me the contact of their perc SL. >< ok. so much for that. haha. quite fun in the end luh. had a great chat with liwei and cui cheng walking to republic polytechnic and stuff. their auditorium was nice, much nicer than vch i thought save the fact that vch is more authentic. and their perc people were totally IMBA OWNAGE PWNZ. omg. how i wish rico perc could become like them, then prac would be SOOOO FUN! everyday play instruments and make great music. RARH. i hope we can do it!
