Performance @ Expo ++ Teachers day

2dae was the performance @ Expo. Here are the details:

0800: Meet at atrium raffles bust... memorised nan er scores while waiting for bus.
0820: Board bus. during bus journey, tse ern realises his shoe bag is MISSING... he becomes frantic and calls his friends to see whether he left it in the atrium. well, his friends found it in the class so no harm done in the end.
0905: Reach Expo.
0910: Start eating breakfast which was nasi lamek. It was delicious. Much better than the bun they gave last time which has a minute amount of filling.
0940: Prepare instruments.
0945: Final rehearsal of opening. 1st time rehearsal, i screwed up and the whole thing juz stopped suddenly. 2nd time, it was ok but we did not end together. Percussion r getting real nervous. We have never played the opening correctly once. Even Lionel was having stage fright. Yin Kwan's scared we screw up big time.
1000: Entrance of VIP. Opening song played. Well, for the first time ever, we actually ended together. haha. so i think it's the best one we have ever played and thank gdness it's the actual one. haha. onli tse ern and lionel screwed up a bit by not playing a few beats. but nothing much lah. dont think they can be heard anyway.
1003: Play other 4 songs. Lionel misses the first beat of hua hao yue yuan and i n yin kwan are quite off for the melody part. The other 4 songs were ok...
1015: End performance
1020: Pack up
1030: Upload
1050: Board bus
1105: Reach roti prata shop cuz our teacher n some students wanna go eat
1135: They finally finish eating
1145: Reach RI
1150: Download
1200: Wait for 93 2 go to MSHS with boyi
1215: Bus FINALLY comes
1235: Reach MSHS
1240: Saw Ms. Ang... haha... she recognised me immediately... haha.. she was like,"Oh. And this one is 6H one. Patrick rite? The one who is very gd at sci. So now how's life? Ur sci still very gd rite?" Im like,"ok lah..." Den she said,"ok. Gd. Just maintain. Must enjoy life in sch now." haha. den i told her that i was finding max and dewei so she said ok lah go lah, cannot wait to see them rite? haha.
1250: Saw Max, Yu Shang, Dewei n Cleon... They r all from 4A but i feel closer to them than to my 4E class, esp. Max and dewei.
1300: Im being bomabarded with qns. on ahem. haha. DEWEI. u r gonna get it.
1315: Go staff room see Ms. Ang again... Long talk by her. We toked about Dion, Mr. Soo, our 6H class, our 5H class, other batches, comparisons between our class n other classes... haha. she says she likes our class more. N she also said she remembered me for being top in science. haha. actually, i was top in sci and maths. but she onli remembers me for my sci. she said she used to tell other teachers how gd i was in sci, always get top. hahaha. tyty. oops. ego...
1400: Talk finally finishes. We walk around staff room for the first time. Saw many new teachers.
1415: Dewei becomes busybody again... He tells ahem 2 Ms. Ang... haha. aiyah. nothing much lah. Juz for fun.
1420: We ask Ms. Ang to go out with us for lunch. She says she's busy. sigh. aiyah. next year bah... So, in the end, me, yushang and max went for lunch at mcdonalds.

Yup. That's about it lah. After eating, i went for piano lesson and now im back home blogging. okok.. think that's enuff for today. At least i managed to see ms. ang. haha. she's a really gd teacher. One of the best i must say in my entire sch life. yup. so that's about it isnt it. okok. BYE

When the daji-ians go marching in/on

hihi...
Havent blogged for the past 2-3 days. Well, nothing much honestly has happened. Here are the main events that happened on mon and tue:

1. CCA
2. CIP

Yes. And the two activities summed up my 2 days. The first, CCA. Went for prac at RJCO room at 335 and got told off (not really scold lah, just sarcastic remark on y im late) by LSH for being late by 5 min. Like WOW. Im SO LATE. haha. ok. den, we moved on to prac the ensemble piece. The piece looked relatively easy but i could not play 1 part. And that part was the same as matsuri dagu. haha. dunno y i cant play lah. i think prob. becuz of the cha and luo, i cant even hear wat im playing. Also, the yangqin sec 1 who came to help us in the ensemble was at times offbeat and i became rather distracted by it. Well, in the end, when mr ngoh left at 530, he was rather angry (or sad) that we took so long just to prac a piece. Actually, i think it's his fault that we took so long. Here's prove:

From 330 to 530: we prac onli 8 times? mayb even less. yar. but he was toking more than we were playing.
From 530 to 615: I led the ensemble and we just kept continue playing, pausing for around 30s after each prac. During those 30s, we would point out the mistakes (usually lionel makes mistakes) and den we try to correct it in the next try. I must say it was really effective n 4 the first time 4 a very long time, i think prac was meaningful. It was a very nice prac. Whenever i wanted to start, i would just play the first 5 bars of my solo n suddenly everyone will become quiet and join in. even yin kwan didnt really protest until 615 when he wanted to go home. tsu ern was also very commited and so was lionel. i think the prob with daji is that our roles are either too slack or too hard. If it's too slack, we wont need 2 prac. If it's too hard for us, we push it to other ppl like thomas to play it. So, no need for prac... not sure lah. but whenever i c sec 1s, i feel so bad holding them back to 530 with them doing nothing for most of the 2 hr bcuz they can onli play naner. Sigh...

So, that was CO prac. tue was CIP at pathlight. We were doing library work at the library at pathlight school. I must say that it was really shocking when i walked inside the library. It looked more like a bookshelf to me. Honestly. The whole library is made up of 2 bookshelfs. Sigh. Well, we started on our work which was to cut and paste "date due" paper onto 500 new books donated by the NLB, fold and paste an envelop onto the books as well to put the library cards. We also had to make 500 library cards. Well, I was in the envelop section and for the 1st 1 hr, i did nothing but folding. Sounds boring? Not really. It was a really FUN and enjoyable experience as we were talking about all sorts of things. Me, YJ and aaron and sometimes rich and jaryl. haha. well, we talked about pri sch, RI, RI vs other sch, pri sch vs pri sch. Aiyah. all sorts of things lah and jaryl was playing songs on his hp as well. Well, it was rather fun folding and talking at the same time. haha. we were laughing all the way esp. me, yj and aaron. We all came from rather gd pri sch, namely kong hwa (yj), maris stella n st andrew (aaron). We were comparing our pri sch and which was our best year, what our achievements were, what we did as prefects, what is ur academic achievement etc. Here are some fast facts that i rmb from the discussion:

1. st andrew has eng sch song while maris stella and kong hwa have chi sch song
2. yj top in standard in p5 and 6
3. yj head prefect
4. yj model student
5. me 2nd in standard
6. me prefect
7. me lose out in the marist of the year award to yuda
8. yj feels ashamed that he did not contribute much as head prefect
9. aaron plays soccer
10. aaron prefect as well
11. aaron pe lesson last 1 hr
12. aaron pe lesson oways soccer
13. me n yj pe lesson last 1/2 hr
14. me play floorball n softball in P6
15. me n yj love our eng teachers in P6
16. aaron says eng standard in st andrew is super high
17. YJ did buddy in 1st year as prefect
18. Yj did late coming in 2nd year as prefect
19. i did road safety (like LOL) in 1st year as prefect
20. i did badminton area in 2nd and 3rd year as prefect
21. YJ did the best among us academically over the 6 Years with almost a top in form every year
22. Me did very badly in P1 and 2 den shoot up to 2nd in class in P3. 4th in class in P4. 4th in class and 5th in standard in P5 and lastly 2nd in class and 2nd in form in P6. haha. constant improvement. Hm...
23. aaron not very sure....
24. aaron cca was soccer, prefect n golf
25. yj cca was wu shu, bb and prefect
26. me cca onli prefect (unless u count chinese club in P3)

Yar... That was just some of the things discussed. haha. it was fun noe-ing more about each other and their schools. So, after folding for 1 hr, we started pasting onto the books. After that, we did quality control and checked that the library card could fit into the envelop. Finally, at 630, we finished our work. We did a total of 4hr of CIP... haha. wonderful!!! Well, aaron n i went home by 410 and it was really crowded. So many ppl were going to guang ming shan. sigh. aiyah. okok. enuff of crap. tmr still have medical appointment + rehearsal. BYE

Cant think of any title

hihi...
thur's field trip to esplanade and the national library at Bras Basah was rather interesting. We first set off on bus at 8 and reached esplanade at around 830. From den on, it was fun all the way.

We first went to the theatre. The theatre was really big like those in the opera houses. It can seat 1600 seats and is shaped in a horse-shoe. This makes the audience more intimate to the performers. Also, the first 5 rows of the seats can be removed and replaced with a stage so that the stage will become bigger. Also, there are a total of 207 fly bars which are used to hang props, decorations, people (to show as if they are flying) etc. Also, there were things like acoustic curtains to absorb the sound and not cause echo.

Next up was the concert hall. Haha. Having performed twice and "audienced" once here, I was rather familiar with the concert hall. It has a seating capacity of 1600 excluding the choir seats. Like the theatre, the concert hall also has 3 rows of seats that can be removed and be replaced by a stage if the orchestra is BIG... Also, there is a 15mm isolation of the concert hall with vacuum which prevent the vibrations from MRTs and outside to come into the concert hall. This improves the sound quality. Also, there are pipe organs and "doors" which can be opened and closed to either make the music sound more like in a small room (closed and usually for solos or ensembles) or in a church (open, orchestra)... Then, there are acoustic curtains as well which absorb reverberations.

Then, next, we went up to the cafe in the library where we were served pasta (spaghetti) some sandwiches, lychee drink etc. It was DAMN nice. haha. yummy, im loving it... haha. After that, we proceeded to the library @ esplanade where we were introduced around. I never knew there were so many facilities there. Must start making use of them sia... There are...

1. Screening room (4-seater = $6/hr , 8-seater = $8/hr) ==> used to watch movies/films
2. Printing services (forgot price) ==> Only 10% of a book or score
3. Project room ($6/hr) Whiteboards, com are provided
4. Self-study area ($0/hr) Very gd for studying esp. cuz esplanade library is damn quiet
5. Practice room ($6/hr) Piano and electone provided for u to prac. Also have a gd scenery of the sea and the merlion
6. Performance room ($10/hr) A place with a grand piano for u to showcase your talents

The library was divided into 4 parts. there were film, theatre, music as well as dance. For music, there were many score books. These were not onli piano scores but also percussion scores, violin scores, voila scores and even guitar and pipa scores!!! haha. The dance section was also quite interesting with a whole corridor for u to practice the dance moves from the videos or books which use symbols to indicate what to do and when to do it. The film and theatre section is also very nice with a variety of movies and plays to choose from.

Den, we walked to the library at Bras Basah. We were walking thru city links and were getting "U think u RI u very pro is it?" looks. haha. i think i saw a few of them. haha. it was quite ok though. Nothing much happened den. Den, we reached Raffles City where we saw the RI monument. It was rather nice except that some of the trees had been screwed out from the models and stolen i guess. hahaha. quite weird. Den, another thing weird happened. Just as we were about to cross the road, there was this ambassedor who was coming by so a few of them were stuck on the other side of the road while waiting for the car and the policemen nearby to finish crossing the road first. There was a bug argument about human rights after that. haha.

The library didnt have much interesting except for the fact that the top 2 levels were restricted as they were books from the past. Also, there was this machine which can read tape-like stuff which contained old newspapers from the past. These tapes are used to store loads of information and compact them into a small dot. Yup. Think that's all for thur...

den, 2dae, fri... history, geog, sci, maths = usual stuff... nothing much to tok about...

Den, discussion on RIweiqi future was quite ok... we plan to play at least 2 matches a week and in a league system.

RICO was fun. Joshua, Cui Cheng, Chu Ming, me, lionel, yin kwan, victor, zhao jie, guan yu n tse ern came for prac. That makes... 10 ppl which is quite ok lah... we played lemon tree, ma lai ge, huan xin, dong hai (boring), long, naner, hua hao etc. Yup. quite ok lah. den, i am starting to learn a new ensemble piece where i am supposed to be the soloist. must perform this on thu so must start prac-ing hard liao. dont wanna screw this up. haha. okok. gtg. bye

Maths Model Playing + RICO exco interview

2dae's maths model making was rather dumb. We first started off with some problems regarding match sticks and coins. The questions seem tough but all of them ended with dumb answers like stacking the coins up or making the coins into a tetrahedron shape. haha. So, in the end, the starting 1 hr was sort of wasted. Then, we took bus to Sci. Centre where we ate at Mcs. I ate a Sausage Mcmuffin with egg student meal. It was nice and filled me up. However, the session that was to come was SO BORING. We were supposed to use mathematics to form models. Yup. I think that's quite interesting but all we had to do was to follow instructions to make the models so in fact, i dont think we learnt anything except to follow instructions carefully.

Yes. So that ended my first exterior programme day. I took bus back to RI and met up with Rich, Edward, Nicholas, Weijie, Ke Jing and Chong Yu. We all went to eat at mcdonalds (again) and this time i ate a filet-o-fish student meal. Den, we went up to J8 to walk about. Edward and Rich are thinking of buying me a b'dae present. YAY. So happy. haha. and we were also looking for things to buy for teachers' day. Here was how one of the conversations in popular went...

Ke Jing: (Points to a P1 Chinese Workbook) HEY! I think we can buy Mr. Yap (eng. teacher) this.
Me: Huh? How can? P1 Chinese Workbook too hard for him lah...
Weijie: Yar lah, i think nursery one more suitable.

HAHA... i noe that's being very bad, but it was quite fun lah. In the end, we didnt buy anything but it was fun juz to be together and walking around aimlessly.

Den, next up was interviews for RICO exco. AHH!!! I was like so scared lah. I was the onli sec 2 there. The others going for the interviews were all sec 3s. Well, it was really scary, esp. the suspense. The interviews started with yu chen who wants to become chairman. His interview took around 15-20 min. I was like "OMG!!! Interview take so long??" And when he came out, he said he was quite gd but they asked him about his GPA and so he screwed-up. haha. And he said the whole interview was in chinese. I was like "HUH?? Chinese? How i speak? Me dunno any chinese" haha. Was getting really scared den...

Next up was Biran i think. His one also took around 15-20 min. He was running for vice-chair and they were asking qns like what will u do if other ppl hate u cuz u become vice-chair or what will u do in order for RICO to achieve a gold? Yar... So, that was that...

A few more ppl went in and came out b4 it came to my turn. I was so afraid i think i was trembling when i went in... So, here r the details of the interview...

Some qns they asked:
1. How would u make Joshua come for CCA?
2. How would u make Thomas and Yin Kwan listen to u?
3. What would u do to solve the problem of percussion being a traditionally slack section?
4. In what ways do u think u would make a better SL den Tsu Ern?
5. Which would u prefer, leadership or friendship?

Amount of time interview took: 30 min (LIKE SO LONG...)

PPL who asked me qns:
1. LSH (she asked most of the qns.)
2. Lionel
3. Boyi
4. Hwee Leong
5. Shi Da

Most interesting thing said:
LSH,"If Joshua comes for practice on Friday, ur place as SL is 50% sealed."

yar... so that was how the interview went. It was really like intimidation as it was like 1:20 ppl... Normally, sec 2s will get interviewed in 3s but cuz i was running for SL (LSH said i was hand-picked to go for interview, i wonder who hand-picked me...), i had to be interviewed alone... That's so sad. haha. Well, it has ended and we will juz have to see what happens doesnt it? Dont noe y either but thomas didnt come for interviews and instead, tsu ern came. haha.

yes... so that's about all... feeling really happy that it's finally over. haha. can relax a bit now. Next step to becoming SL: Get as much votes as possible...

RIWeiqi new initiative - E-grp

yay... there's a new initiative 4 RIWeiqi by HB. Behold... The E-grp. yes. Here r the rules that every1 has to obey when using this grp (HB wrote it)...

1.No foul language
2.Use everyday english. Patrick doesn't understand 'lol', so I fearthat this rules must stand.
3. Post only stuff about weiqi
4. Don't insult others. There is one exception. It comes when the'others' refer to me.
5. Whenever you read a wednesday update, IMMEDIATELY email me. Mail me, not the group.
6. I reservse the right to change rules and add them WITH priornotice.
7. Win a team champions once.
8. Only use english
9. Post for a sane and good reason
10. Yiheng shut up until further notice

There were onli 7 rules at first. But Yiheng came along and spammed with almost 10 e-mails. Thus, rules 9 and 10. Also, rule 8 stands cuz Yiheng kept posting messages on "liang bian tong xing zou zhong jian" cuz of rule 3. haha. That's like LAME. haha.

Here are the rules I posted...

1. It now becomes a rule that for every game you play, you must record it down. Recording books are available (SH said so)... These games apply to SWA games, competitions, online games as well as RIWeiqi training

2. It is also a rule now that for every match u play, u must replay it at least once and comment on at least 3 moves that u think is either gd or bad... U can also approach either HB or me to ask for advice. We'll help u as far as possible n ask for help from yang lao shi on sat if possible.

3. It now becomes a rule that u must at least play 1 game per week. If u come for prac, u have the one game. If u go for SWA, u also have the one game. If not, u have to play online.

4. Start practicing si huo ti. I won't make a rule for this cuz si huo ti really takes up much time n patience, but do prac it. Really helps.

5. Change to rule 10 of HB's... It now becomes a rule that Yiheng shuts up till further notice...

6. Oh... and do start memorising ding shi's... think it'll be quite useful. Dont onli memorise the moves, but also when to use it, what types of conditions do u use it, is it sian shou etc. We may also be doing this during prac...

Yes... I know the rules here are a bit crappish, but i hope it'll help us in our quest towards winning the team championship. I really hope that we can win at least one or two team championships b4 i leave RI. That will indeed be a great achievement considering how much less trainings and less players RI has compared to HCI.

yes... that's all 4 now... gtg do philo... BYE

FPSP + Interviews tmr

hihi. today was not an interesting day at all. The Future Problem Solving Programme was quite dumb. I mean, the steps are quite useful and i think i will be using it in the future, but the activities were quite stupid, esp. the skit. But, looking on the bright side, i still learnt a few things, and here they are:

Step 1: Come up with problems that may arise
Step 2: Come up with the underlying problem
Step 3: Come up with solutions
Step 4: Come up with criterias to grade the solutions
Step 5: Grade the solutions and see which one has the highest points
Step 6: Do the action plan (What do you do in this solution specifically)

Yup... That's basically Future Problem Solving. Quite gd steps i feel, esp. the criterias and the grading of the solution.

Well, tmr need 2 go sci centre for maths. SIAN. sigh. Why cant we just have normal lessons? Im feeling so bored. Have a feeling that maths will be quite sian there.

Tmr will also mark my first try at getting into RICO exco. It'll be hard. I'm onli sec 2 currently and normally onli sec 4s get into exco. onli exception i can find is biran and shida. Think my onli hope is that thomas becomes chairman. haha. Im starting to feel scared. The interview is like 1:20 cuz the whole exco this year and LSH will be interviewing me. AHH!!! Must stay calm. Ok. Just speak as if u r answering some questions asked by your seniors ok? haha. I hope i dont tremble when im inside the classroom. juz speak with your normal voice. AHH!!! STAY CALM PATRICK... sigh...

okok... that's all 4 now... ALL THE BEST PATRICK 4 TMR'S INTERVIEW. juz stay calm n u can do it. :)

Weiqi aftermath

It's mon 2dae and im already starting to miss weiqi. Yes. The thinking, the moves, the tension. Weiqi is just so interesting and complicated. Still, im not sure whether im suppossed to be happy or sad about yesterdae. On one hand, it seems as if I have achieved a lot esp. achieveing the milestone 6 for the first time ever and getting in top 3 for the first time ever, beating even SH. On the other hand, it seems that RI has just lost one of his very limited and valuable chances of overtaking HCI for the first place. We had so many chances to do that. If I had killed Xun Kang's patch and won Xun Kang, if SH had just 3 more seeds to win Xun Kang, if HB had just one more mu and won Yi Feng. If we had any of these 3 victories, RI would have got first for the first time in maybe 6-7 years? Not quite sure when was the last time we got first, but i noe it's a long long time ago. There4, it was really a chance missed. Esp HB's last game against Yi Feng. 1 seed made the difference between the victory and the 1st place in team placing. That seed mattered a lot. In the end, we had to settle for second again. Like AGAIN?? Everytime we go for competition, it's HCI 1st and RI 2nd with dunman coming in a close 3rd. There was once when dunman did manage to overtake us to take 2nd place, but that was quite unlucky and unusual. Normally, it would be HCI 1st and RI 2nd with RI almost coming in first, losing out onli by 1 or 2 points. WHY?? Why cant we just overtake HCI for once?? Well, that missed chance yesterday will be sorely missed as it will be hard to replace SH when he goes up to J1.

Today's prac was NOT normal. Reason: Darren didn't come. The place was much quieter and peaceful without him. The lessons were also much more effective in my opinion. And for the first time since the start of the millenium (usage of hyperbole), I didnt hear "it". hahaha. Think all the CO ppl who reads this will understand but no use asking me what's the "it" cuz i wont tell u. hahaha... well, though BL came, he also didnt do anything much except be his arrogant self and show off to everyone his percussion skills. Yup... That was all. We also just got our dong hai scores and i realise that percussion was suppossed to slack in that piece. haha... my part is like SOOO easy that i can sight-read. haha. 2dae we did huan xin and nan er. Nan er is dumb. Me and yin kwan are getting SO BORED with that song that we can die but we still have to prac it together with the sec 1s. Sigh. WHY cant the sec 1s just get the rhythm. It's like they have already been prac-ing this song for 3-4 weeks and it's suppossed to be a primary school piece according to mr. ngoh. sighsighsigh. well, huan xin sounded much better. Reason: sec 1s not performing in it. AHAHA... Guan Yu's still taking xylo which is quite hard. I think that thomas should be taking it but mr. ngoh said that GY could do it and there was no use changing roles. haha. I dont care lah. As long as i can play my bongo drums, im happy. haha... my part is like so easy. The hardest variation is semi-semi-semi-semi-crot / half-rest-quaver-crot + REPEAT LOTS OF TIMES.... Yup... the others are all crap. eg. dotcrot-quaver / crot-crot + REPEAT LOTS OF TIMES.... Yes... SO boring. hahaha... well, i must be satisfied lah. YK's even more boring. He's playing tambourine and im bet he's either feeling very sian or slack. one of them. hahaha... okok. nvm. Well, so actually prac 2dae was not really effective for me as we were just prac-ing things that i already noe. sigh. Why cant we like prac something more meaningful like long teng? oh... and lionel juz informed me that if thomas does not come out with a solo for the 30/8 concert, i would have to come up with one. Im sure man. That's like in less than 10 days time. haha... sighs... nvm. we will see how it goes. Till den... BYE

weiqi competition 2

2dae was the second day of the weiqi competition. Here was how it went:

1036: I arrive at Bishan CC. Comp supposed to start at 1030. Im late by 6 min and if i am 4 more min late, i would have to forego my first match (Players who are late by 10 min automatically loses their match). Well, im lucky the bus wasnt a bit later, or i would have lost.

1st match: Against Yi Feng from HCI. Yi Feng is quite pro although i have won him the last 2 times we played at SWA (Singapore Weiqi Association). He is suppossed to be one of the pro-er ones in HCI. So, it was a rather close match. At the start, i think it was about the same, too close to call who was leading. Den, during 中盘, i think he made a mistake by attacking my land. He managed to survive, but I got very 厚. So, i think at that point in time, i was leading. Den, Yi Feng did a do or die move. It was a 对杀. In the end, he played one move wrongly and i had one more 气 than him. Thus, i ate his whole piece and i won. I noe it sounds very tyco. But, a win is still a win and it is not like i didnt make any wrong moves, just that he made a bigger mistake and thus, i won. This was the longest match i played, 82 min to be exact. Most of the time, i was the one thinking. So, i estimate that i took 50 min while Feng Yi took 32 min. yup. but, in the end, kang lao shi came and said that i had obviously won so there was no point continuing the game. In fact, i think we could have played until 100 min if we finished the whole game.

2nd match: Against Wei Han also from HCI. Wei Han is also quite pro. In fact, i think we 3 are a threesome. We are all about the same level in terms of ability. Usually, i would win Yi Feng, Wei han would win me and Yi Feng would win Wei Han. That was what happened in SWA. Well, i knew i was at a disadvantage for this game as Wei Han's style of playing was effective against me. The match started normally once again. It was not a really interesting match. None of us had big errors like Yi Feng did. But, in the end, i think he was too greedy as he invaded my land and he became 薄 (weak). His 厚式 (stronghold) from the 一间低夹 became useless. So, in the end, he got 173. He was black and black needs 185 to win. So, it was a rather big loss for him although not as bad as the yi feng match.

3rd match: Against Xun Kang from HCI again. Xun Kang is one of the pro-est in HCI. He's about the same level as FCC in C div and they 2 make the C div in HCI so strong. Well, i expected to lose this match. At the start, i was already losing. Den, he suddenly attacked my land. I attacked his attack and tried to kill him. I had a few chances to kill him but i didnt see it during the match. If i had killed him, i would have won. But that's a very big IF. In the end, he survived and even killed my whole piece. So, I 投子 (Gave up).

4th match: Against Xin Hui from ACS(I). Xin Hui is also rather pro. Flashback to 2 or 3 years ago. I was playing him in another competition (forgot the name of this competition). He won me by quite a lot that time. I was rather stressed that game as I knew I had to win to get into top 4 for individual placing and let RI have a chance of getting 1st in team. The match started off quite well for me. But, during mid game, he caught up and in the end, i onli won by 3 seeds. i was white and white needs 177 to win. I had 180 so i won!! haha... i noe u would think once again that im very tyco. But, a win is still a win and i think i could have won him by a lot more had i not been tired out after the last 3 games against HCI ppl.

That ended that tournament. I set a few records.
1. I won 6/7 matches. (For the last 4-5 tournaments, i onli won 5 matches)
2. I got 3rd position. (The highest i got last time is 5th)
3. I beat SH in terms of position (SH is our chairman and he got 4th in this competition)
4. I played on first board for first time (First board refers to the place/board where the 2 ppl with the highest points meet)
5. I played 2 consequtive matches on first board.
6. I won 5 staright from the start. (Usually, the position u get is higher if u lose later. During the last tournament, i lost on the 3rd match. Flashback to 2 tournaments b4, i lost on the 4th match. This time, i lost onli onli on my 6th match which is quite pro. Hong Bo onli managed to lose on the 4th match this time and it's his personal best. My personal best currently is 6. Wonder if i can make it 7 or 0 (Never lose).

Yup... These are the achievements i have 4 this tournament. Here are the standings that i noe of.

1st placing: Xun Kang (Won all 7 matches)
2nd placing: Yi Feng (Won 6 matches)(I beat him but he won all his other matches and his xiao fen (the total no. of points that the opponents u faced have) was higher than me)
3rd placing: Me (Won 6 matches)
4th placing: Shi Hao (Won 6 matches, could have won 7 if not for that freak loss to Xun Kang)
5th placing Xiao Mo from HCI (Won 5 matches. He onli lost 1 actually to Xun Kang but he was late for his first match and so he had to forfeit)
6th placing:Hong Bo (Won 5 matches)

Yup... not quite sure about 7th and 8th placing.

Team:
1st: HCI (made up of Xun Kang, Yi Feng and Xiao Mo) Total no of points = 7+6+5 = 18
2nd: RI (made up of me, SH and Hong Bo) Total no of points = 6+6+5 = 17

This tournament was quite a gd one for me. The onli bad thing was that RIWeiqi had once again failed to win 1st in team tournament, losing out once again by a point. But, we are getting closer and closer. In the last match, Hong Bo faced Yi Feng and Hong Bo lost by 1 seed (i.e. if Hong Bo had 1 more seed, Hong Bo would have won). If Hong Bo had won, HCI would be 7+5+5=17 and RI would be 6+6+6=18. We would have won team 1st. Well, it wasnt to be the happy ending. In the end, it was that seed which costed me a 2nd place (if hong bo had won the last game, he would have lesser xiao fen than me and i would have got 2nd place), Shi Hao a 3rd place, Hong Bo a 4th place and lastly, RI a 1st place. How costly a seed can be. sigh. Well, at the end of the day, i think we have put in our best and can leave with our heads held high. My reputation within the HCI ppl has risen and i hope to improve. HCI ppl are starting to realise that RI are becoming better and better and at one point during the competition, they were saying that this time, RI will get first. Well, we didnt cuz of that one seed. However, one day, RI would get first for team tournament. One day, we will triumph over HCI. One day. When would that day come? That, I do not noe. However, what i do noe is that we are getting closer and closer to that goal.

Yup, and so let us all rally together and work hard. I really hope that that one day will come when I'm still in RI. Xu Dong has failed. So has Shi Hao. But we are drawing closer and closer. Last time, there was no talk about who was going to be first, just who was going to be second. Well, now it's starting to change. RI is onli losing out by a bit and if we work hard, i believe that we will overtake HCI and become the champs and remain the champs, just like how HCI is now.

weiqi competition

2dae was the national day and pesta sukan weiqi competition (dunno what the comp. name means, but who cares). Here was how it went:

Arrival at bishan CC at 1:50pm

1st match: Against this Dunman High girl. She was not that gd i must say and i almost clear-boarded her. Actually, i did but she resigned so it's not considered as clear-board. So, nothing much to say. I expected to beat her and bu chu suo liao, i beat her.

2nd match: Against a Cat High person. He was quite ok. B4 the match began, he was toking about how noob he was as he had onli learnt weiqi for 3/4 years. Well, i think he lied cuz he is definitely not that noob. And I had a real scare at one time cuz he looked like he was winning. I took the risk and invaded his land. SUCCESS!! I managed to take his land away and from den on, it was quite gd as i managed to take his land once again with a shuang huo.

3rd match: Against yet another Cat High person. This one was noober den the other cat high one. Here was how it went: he took black. 1st move: xiao mu, 2nd move: xing wei, 3rd move: xiao mu, 4th move: xing wei. Den, he started to think for almost 2 min b4.... he plays a dian san san. haha. i think he's not really thinking, juz acting to think or maybe even wasting my time cuz the comp's time rule was a bit screwed up. Well, he failed and i won him with ease. He played many wrong moves (actually, i think all his moves were wrong), and i thrashed him. He resigned in the end. This match was a real waste of time. He was almost like thinking 2 min per move and mine was average 10s a move. Ok... it's gd to think but his thinking was useless. I basically used the time he was thinking to think myself n after i had thot thru and he still hadnt move, i had almost a min to play with the seeds or see the other match or even look at the other ppl play omok. i noe that's being arrogant. But if u were in my position, u would also do the same. It was really irritating. esp cuz he would think so long and play a crappy move.

Well, so that ended the comp that day for me. 4 more matches tmr. im raring to go. it's riweiqi's biggest chance of getting a gold cuz onli xiao mo n xun kang came to sec grp for HCI (there are others but all not that pro). The other HCI ppl all go open grp.

Ok. den, i went for jiang. 2dae's jiang lesson was rather boring. I reached jiang at 715 cuz i had weiqi comp and there was no point going home and coming out again. It was rather boring and i sat there for 30 min b4 wanen came, followed by yun hui and den gilbert. we did suoduanchangwen 2dae and it was rather boring. Ok. I did learn some new things but it was definitely not very interesting. So, nothing much to talk about. yup. gtg. tmr still have to go for weiqi comp so have to slp earlier. BYE

Mixed day...

today was mainly a sad day with a bit of happiness onli in CO... the day started with geog which was as usual - boring!!! haha... den, maths lesson, NHH didnt come so we had a free period... after that, sci was ok... we learnt certain new things... den history was once again - BORING... okok... but that wasn't the worst... when i got back my history project, i was shocked to see that i onli got a 26/40... that's onli 65%... that's so sad... that will mean i won't be able to maintain my 4.0 GPA for history like last sem... sigh... it's so unfair... they gave it over the june hols but i had to go to HK for 2 weeks and the other 2 weeks were used to do other homework like journal and chi books... sigh... so, in the end, we had to rush it in 2 weeks... actually, i thot we did quite well... i thot the flag was rather creative... but, i think it was the overall presentation that pulled us down.. our product was too dull... onli one colour and there was a breakdown in communication... i wanted qayyum to put 2 sticks... in the end, he onli put one stick... and den, the string could not tie to the flag... and den we forgot to laminate the flag... also, the colour combination was bad... we shld have used a black base for a silver figure... well, qayyum chose red... so, it looked bad... sigh... also, we actually had a caption... den, mrs. neoh put in her remarks "missing caption"... HUH?? why missing? it was there and i thot our caption was rather good and creative as well... sigh... WHY?? onli 65%?? i think i will ask mrs. neoh and show her the caption...

Ok... enuff of that... we had weiqi next where i played with YJ and bi ran... nothing much to talk about there... den, CO... we are supposed to perform at expo on 31/8... so 2dae, the ppl came to judge whether we were gd enuff... we performed hua hao yue yuan, lemon tree, ma lai ge and nan hai dang zi qiang... i didnt even noe we were performing 2dae and i havent learnt ma lai ge and lemon tree b4!!! so, in the 2 hrs b4 they came, we prac-ed these 4 songs... darren and bl were suan-ing me on my inability to play variations, always refering back to the same person over and over again when suan-ing me... and so, the first 1 hr was crap as i kept getting suan-ed... den, BL taught me jazz and i used it in lemon tree... it was quite nice and i managed to play it!!! haha... so proud... den, i added 2 to 3 variations in ma lai ge... haha... so in the end, when the ppl came, i think we performed quite well, screwing up in onli a few parts...

After the ppl left, we did nan er, matsuri and huan xin... i did quite a few variations in matsuri... haha.... felt bored cuz im suppossed to repeat 100+ bars or even more... so sian... so i decided to play something more interesting... and i didnt screw up!!! haha... tyty... den, huan xin was quite nice... although i got lost halfway, i found my way back and i think overall, i played rather well... nan er was also brilliant with me and yin kwan playing dagu...

So, that was how my day ended... i still cant get over my history results... cant believe i got so low.. sigh... AHH!!! no... how can i get so low?? sigh sigh... ay.. no point sigh-ing at what has already passed... okok... gtg... BYE...

The Sweetness of being released early...

hihi...

2dae, i tasted the sweetness of being released early from sch on a normal sch day for the first time... It was a great feeling... haha... i went back to class after assembly at the dining hall to suan1 ke jing, edward and Ying Jie... hahaha... after that, i stayed back in class to do sci assignment with jaryl and wei jie... that was quite ok in my opinion... we managed to complete half of the assignment b4 we went home...

Oh... and an update on RICO's concert on 6/11... We are going to play taiwan, long, feng nian ji and huan xin... there will definitely be a long teng hu yue or a percussion ensemble... if it's percussion ensemble, then it should be laohumoya or qinwangdianbing... haha... urm.. but i think most prob we will be doing long teng... and den other pieces being considered are nan er, hua hao, matsuri++... well, i sure hope that we can play these few songs...

1. Long Teng (dagu)
2. Feng Nian Ji (xylo + muyu)
3. Matsuri (dagu)
4. Nan Er (dagu)
5. Taiwan (xylo)
6. Huan Xin (bongo)

Yup... cuz i will be playing major roles... dont wanna play mu yu for the rest of the year... haha... Also, there is the new piece dong hai... wonder wat roles there are to take... I really hope that i will get at least one part for the timpani for at least one song... even if it's a very simple score... I really wanna try out timp... I havent played it since I played 8 bars for BL during FNJ in sec 1... sigh...

OKOK... that's all... got to rush off... BYE...

To quit or not to quit, that's the question...

Today was a sad day... I decided to quit 3rd language... Though in all my previous posts i have been complaining about jap, i still quite like it in a certain sense... So, it was a really hard decision to make... To quit or not to quit... Well, in the end, I decided to quit... Here are some of my reasons...
1. I'm sleeping too late...
2. I'll quit by the end of sec 2, so must as well quit earlier...
3. There is not much use of jap if u onli learn the basics...
4. I always hated the way MOELC teachers teach...
5. My results are deteriorating both for jap and others as my recent jap test showed... (got onli 33.5/50...

Yup... Those are just some of my reasons for quitting jap... It's really a sad day for me... I feel like a quitter... I never knew I was a quitter... now i noe... haha... yar... but well, i lasted longer than many of my classmates, losing out to onli TYJ, Aaron, Karthik, edward, Chong Yu and Ke Jing (who was forced to continue)...

Okok... enough of that... back to my favourite topic: CO... haha... i dunno y, but i feel that Mr. Ngoh is a weird teacher... Here are just some of the things that makes him weird...

1. He is lame... and it's VERY lame... he cracks jokes which arent jokes... that's why we laugh... hahaha...
2. He doesn't care if we play a bit wrongly... this applies esp. for the juniors... even if there is an obvious mistake, he doesnt point it out... juz says very gd and continues teaching... this is unlike shen lao shi who scolds whenever u make a mistake... shen lao shi's lessons are always less fun but much more effective...
3. He gives the important parts to seniors and not by the ability to play it... okok... he does go a bit by the ability to play percussion, but why is it that i got like bongo drums while GY got vibraphone?? haha... actually, i dont mind bongo... just wondering why ngoh arranges roles like this...
4. He asks me to prac with the sec 1s... AHH!!! everytime during prac, the scenario would be as such... seniors prac (or more like play... haha...) on their own while juniors prac with ngoh... juniors include me, cui cheng, shu jian, joshua and chu ming... and obviously, im the best one in this group cuz i learnt much earlier than them... so, usually, when he is teaching something, i will get it right the 1st time or at most the 2nd or 3rd time... and den i will wait for the others to finish prac-ing and in the mean time teach them... ay... why am i in this group... and why isnt zhao jie and guan yu and lionel and victor in this group?? WHY ME?? i mean i dont mind prac-ing with sec ones... but this once again shows that ngoh goes by seniority and not ability to play as shen would do... haha... so im still prac-ing nan er dang zi qiang... sigh... it's suppossed to be a primary school piece...

okok... think that's all for now... will leave what i have left for fri... have to rush chi oral... haha... okok... BYE...

a boring sat...

ok... so 2dae is sat... urm... first, i went for course briefing with my mom... it was quite repititive actually... most of the info can be found on the yellow booklet... but, still, i got some new info... and i think i may go for the raffles academy and specialise in either maths or phy... but, if that is the case, i will have to get a GPA of above 4.0 and that may mean dropping 3rd lang... hahaha... actually, i do plan to drop third lang by the end of this year, most likely b4 the final exam... den, i can relieve my mind of japanese... it's been clogging up my mind for the past 2 years... haha... so, i think it will still be 3 sciences + history, with RA subject being maths or physics... there are a few ppl that i noe taking that subject combination, namely gilbert n mark... history is actually not really popular in RI with onli 2/15 classes in sec 3 this year taking history... but still, i think it's better than geog cuz geog is onli about memorising notes and forgetting them after the test... in history, we learn skills like how to write a "to what extent" qn.. or test for reliability etc... these are really skills that i think will come in handy in time to come...

Ok... next up was the choosing of specs... ay... that was sad story man... i didnt noe how to choose a gd pair of specs... so wat did i do? i chose a white pair... i look DUMB!!! white specs, white shirt, white pants, white socks, white shoes... just like those ppl who r going for funerals... AHHH!!!!... boo hoo... den, i went to cut my hair... ay.. yet another sad story... my hair is SO SHORT... ahhh... i want my hair back... okok... no use moaning about it now...haha...

Next was Weiqi... i learnt some new tactics 2dae and it was the importance of having a main target... and that u must know how to bao liu bian hua so that u can choose the best bian hua that is possible at a later stage... however, the art of bao liu bian hua is not easy to master as if u dont move it, other ppl may move it... u have to noe when is the best time to move it so that u can achieve the best possible bian hua... den Yang toked about the com Weiqi and com Chinese chess... now, computers can beat the pro-est ppl in Chinese Chess... however, computers cant even beat a person in weiqi even if the person rang 9 seeds... that's like... wow... Weiqi as u can see is a kind of chess which has so many diff bian hua that a com cant calculate a move's value... there is no ultimate goal in weiqi... in chinese chess, u just have to jiang jun... in eng chess, u just have ti checkmate... in weiqi, there are so many ways of winning... eating seeds, expanding, attacking, killing, invading... all of them may help u win... like 2dae, when zhang xiang replayed his match, there was one move where he had to duan kai the two pieces... there is not much value in that move... there is no mu4 shu4 or anything, it will onli help it become hou4... but, how do u measure hou4?? there is no way of measuring... thus, a computer can never beat a human in weiqi cuz it's the feeling... a human would have thot of that duan move... but not a computer... the computer can onli mearsure the amount of land it gains from that move... but, sometimes, you get more land, you will still lose out in the end because you are too bao2 and other ppl can invade or kill easily... it was quite interesting listening to his story... yup... so next up was the match... i played against this HCI guy... it was quite a close match until i made 1 calculation mistake and lost the match immediately... ay... so sad... i actually had quite a g chance of winning... boo hoo... cries... haha... well, must train my ji suan liao... my ji suan is too lousy... i could have killed that piece so easily lah.. ay... so sad... nvm...

Den, jiang... jiang was quite hard to understand cuz i didnt really agree with how the teacher went about to write the zuo wen about jian kang yu cai fu... i thot it was to compare which one is more important which meant comparing someone who has cai fu and no jian kang and one who has jian kang and no cai fu... but the teacher went about comparing a person with cai fu and jian kang and one with onli cai fu and no jian kang... i think it's wrong because den u r comparing whether jian kang is important which is an obvious yes but it's not answering the question!!! at least i think so... hahaha... ok... nvm... well, there was one part of the lesson which went like this...

teacher: tong xue men, ying gai zen me yang zuo jie wei ne?
yun hui: copy from start...
me: paste at bottom...

And during lesson, gilbert was his usual self... reading as if he were... nvm... haha... it was weird lah... dunno how to describe... hahahahaha... ay...okok.. gtg liaoz... BYE

An eventful Friday...

Today was a rather eventful day...

First was history and we did comparison between sources... IT's SO HARD!!! sigh... till now i still dunno how to do comparisons... first must have common ground, den similarity and differences... But wat's common ground?? Aiyah... nvm... no point toking about stuff i dont noe about...

so... next was geog... Yet another boring lesson... we onli went thru the geog quiz and i got onli 14.5/20... BOO HOO... Well, average for 2H is 12 and sec 2 cohort is 10... But, 14.5 is nothing to be proud of... Edward got 17 lah and CY got 17.5... bah... ok...

so next was sci... sci was quite interesting as we learnt about transcription n translation... it was quite hard but still fun...

den, maths... we got back our CCT and i got 30/30... ahahaha... yet another full mark... i think more den 75% of my maths tests are full marks and i have never got lower den 80%... ahaha... so ego.... well, edward and cy also got full marks and jaryl got 29.5... hahaha... den we did some prac qns for maths and sch ended... den i played xiang qi with jaryl... i was winning him when suddenly i let him chou my ju... aiyah... so sad... den i lost... hahaha... boo... okok... nvm...

Next up was... WEIQI... yay... i replayed the game i played with SH last week and learnt a few ding shi... den, i played with him again and once again, i lost... hahaha... SH is too pro... but, he says that i have improved... haha... yay... improvement...

Den, CO was as usual... first nan er... I screwed up da gu and got a sound beating and scolding from BL... hahaha... and once again his scoldings included... ahem... nvm... hahaha... well, after that, we played stupid pieces like hua hao yue yuan and matsuri where i didnt screw up... hahaha... but it sounded crap... den, we played long2... It was ok, and the sec 1s were laughing at how i played the triangle... grr... how dare them... hahaha... lionel saw it and went to scold them... hahaha... and i finally managed to play the mu yu without the scores... hahaha... actually, it's onli my second time trying mu yu, so it isnt exactly finally... haha... ok... next up, feng nian ji... NO!!! I SCREWED UP... AND VERY VERY BADLY TOO... bah... i hate the 8 bars rite at the start of the repeat bar... i can never play it properly... sigh... well, actually feng nian ji is my busiest piece as im playing xylo, mu yu, gong... actually, i can also play the cha but nvm... that's taken by lionel... hahaha... urm... and so prac ended...
Oh, and there is an RICO concert on 6/11... we will be playing feng nian ji (NOO!!!!), matsuri, long teng, long, huan xin++ maybe hua hao yue yuan also lah... not very sure... but, the main problem is long teng... there are 9 instruments, namely timp, 2 dagu, 2 xiao gu, soloist (paigu), shi mian luo, xiao bo and luo... AND we onli have 9 players (thomas, me, YK, Cui Cheng, Chu Ming, Shu Jian, Zhao Jie, joshua and Tsu Ern...) Ok... u mayb thinking that 9 players 9 instruments... juz enough... but... all the parts are quite hard... so, my plan is... thomas - soloist, YK and me - dagu (with YK or me playing mu yu), Tsu Ern -Timp, Cui Cheng and Joshua- xiao gu, Cui Cheng - xiao bo , Joshua - luo, Chu Ming - shi mian luo... yep.. think that's it... hope it succeeds... den...

As for other songs:
Feng nian ji will be normal with me - muyu + xylo, thomas - timp, YK and Tsu Ern - dagu, Cui Cheng/Joshua - cha, Chu Ming or Tsu Ern - tambourine?... yar...

Matsuri... ooh.. me - dagu, YK - muyu, thomas - paigu, lionel/Tsu Ern - Timp..., Cui Cheng - shake... ahahaha.. okok... den...

Huan xin? not sure wat parts there are so onli noe i'll be playing bongo drums... but since we dont have this kind of drums, it will be dagu + one of the paigu...

Long... Me - triangle (boo... i wanna take timp...), YK - muyu + gong, Thomas - timp, Tsu Ern - vibraphone...

And if there is hua hao yue yuan... thomas - timp, me - muyu, YK - tambourine, Tsu Ern/GY - cha?...

Yup... think that's all lah... hahaha... there will be a song where onli sec 1s will be playing... think they will screw up that piece one... ahahaha... urm... den... some solos and ensembles but no percussion ones cuz we already have long teng and matsuri...

So basically, i will be playing dagu x2 (LT/MAT), triangle(LONG), xylo(FNJ), muyu x2/3(FNJ/LT/HHYY), bongo drums (HX) which will be changed to dagu and one of the paigu... yay... that's quite a lot to play... hahaha... wont need to feel as if im slacking too much this time... but, i think if i have a more eventful concert next time, there shld be a paigu and timp included in the list... and if possible... DRUM SET!!! haha... okok... nvm... that will take a long time... ive been prac-ing on long teng solo part and im proceeding quite well... hahaha... NEXT UP... PAIGU AND TIMPANI...

And there is course briefing for the choosing of subjects in sec 3 tmr... think i have 3 choices lah... tri sci + his (70%), tri sci + geog (25%), chem+phy+geog+his (5%)... and im still considering whether or not i wanna take jap as 11th subject... haha... Hm...

There is also oral comm... haha... im the co-director in the drama production... haha... so proud to be co-director... hahaha... there shldn't be oral comm rehearsal tmr though cuz of course briefing...

Patrick
Got to learn paigu and timp (esp. how to tune...)

NDP 2006

hihi...
Today, i watched the NDP on tele... it was quite interesting... it's the second time i ever watched NDP... first time was life but that was onli a rehearsal... that was in P5 and i can still remember i was playing hp with max n dewei... we were exchanging hps and playing lame games like snake... ahahaha... well, that year's ndp was quite nice esp. the planes and the fireworks... this year, there were no planes... but the fireworks were as gd as ever... and the national day theme song was NICE... hahaha... loved it... then, the performances were also brilliant esp. the one with the usage of lights to create pictures which signify something special about s'pore... haha... it was quite nice... and overall, though i fell the ndp was a bit too short, it was quite a gd parade and i enjoyed it thoroughly... And im proud to sae that im very proud to be proud to be a singaporean... hahahaha... that's all for now... back to work...

Hsinghai Concert and National Day

hihi...
On sat, i went for hsinghai concert with dewei and ben goh... dewei was as "short" as ever... hahaha... well, it was nice meeting him... havent seen him since CNY last year i think... hahaha... well, fond memories of p6 flooded my mind... All the "plans" and "squashing"... ahahaha... P6 was really one of my best years... With Shi Hao, Dewei and Max all next to me, it was indeed a superb year (with no hyperbole intended)... hahaha... well, back to the concert...RGCO actually sent their whole daji section juz to support their seniors... haha... i was like "wah so many ppl!!!" but, that's beside the point... BACK TO THE CONCERT... it was a 2 hr long concert with songs such as zinjiang rondo, bai she zhuan and butterfly lovers... on stage was bl, janice and kweky... the songs were quite nice i thot although ben goh seemed as he was about to fall asleep (i think) and dewei was scrutinising on the cello section and saeing that they were slacking... ahhahahaha... well, the first half of the concert was gd... in the second half, esp. liang zhu, BL SCREWED UP... hahahaha... he was playing the ban gu and he missed it so many times... ahahahaha... actually, even janice screwed up the timpani, missing a whole part and tuning a G which was a bit too high (WY said so...), but, since BL is my senior, i shld be laughing at him more... AHAHAHA... oops... well, actually, he was quite impressive lah... ban gu for liang zhu is hard as u have to play the mu yu and the ban gu at the same time... i tried it b4 and i produced weird sound... hahaha... but still BL SCREWED UP... he got a kick from shen (my former percussion teacher and conductor of Hsinghai CO) in the butt... ahaha... i was laughing all the way when i heard about it... well, he must heave a sigh of relief that he didnt get the throwing of the stand though... hahaha... so after the concert, it was giving chocolate time!!! hahaha...i bought a ferrero rocher from NTUC that day and gave it to Janice... ahahaha... well, WY was like "janice!! ni de patrick lai kan ni le" ahahaha... i think she's just joking lah... well, after that, i went home to eat dinner (couldnt join BL they all cuz family wanted me back home (they were eating with friends)) haha... so that was all for that day...
Then, on tue, we had national day celebration... we had a train building session where we were suppossed to build trains using vitagen/yakult bottles... at first, i thot it was going to be a failure... How to build a train with solely viragen bottles?? Well, i was wrong as the whole sec 2 cohort built a train which was then linked together to form the shape of Singapore... it was quite a nice train and we were quite impressed with our own work... then, after that, we had food... I bought a piece of pizza for $1!!! I feel so cheated... AHH!!! well, nvm... hahaha... anywae, i was hungry so i didnt mind... after food, we had a concert by a sec 4 band... the band was name the national dayers... haha... weird name... well, they were quite a gd band though i must sae not as gd as me... hahaha... jkjk... their percussionist was rather slack actually and so was the bass guitarist... the other guitarist was quite impressive as he didnt have scores for any of the songs... But, he still screwed up a bit... haha... Songs they performed include home and 2 songs they composed... haha... well, that was all for national day... it was simple yet eventful (irony??)... haha...
okok... that's all for now... have to start to rush my homework... so bye bye...

CC, dazu, speech, newspaper, get well, grass - Crapping for the sake of crapping

hihi...
This week was yet another week full of activities... To start off, we had Inter-house Cross country... This is where everybody participates and run for their houses to gain points... Each participant gains his house 1 point... If he runs under a certain amount of time, he may have 1 or 2 extra points... Those who come in top 25 have extra points... 1st - 25 extra points, 2nd - 24 extra points and so on... Sec 1s ran 3.2 km while sec 2-4 ran 4.8km... The activity was held at Macritchie Reservoir... So on Wed, 1230 after chi class, we proceeded to eat at j8 mcdonalds... den, we took a bus to macritchie and started to wait for the cross country to start... We played games like 天不怕,地不怕,只怕 ji go ba, magic, charge, za and of course staring competition... Then at about 3-4, we started our run... We first went thru something called Lornie Trail where our surroundings were filled with trees and the ground was soil and a but muddy... But it was the best part of the run cuz there was no sun (blocked by trees) and it was quite windy... then, we went out of the trail to this long stratch of pavement beside a road... That was the worst part with the Sun shining directly on us and the polluted air coming from the cars (it was a rather busy road)... For that part of the run, i walked most of it... starting only to jog after walking for a full 4 mins... Then, for the last part of the run, it was also beside a road but it was less busy as it led to a carpark... It was the last part of the run... so i jogged all the way until i almost reached the finishing line when i sprinted as fast as i could to overtake a buckley and moorian... In the end, i took 33 min, 70th position... 3 min short of my target... But, it was still an achievement and im proud to say that for the first time in my life i ran (or walked) a full 4.8km... hahahaha...
Then, on friday, the sec 1s came for dazu for the 1st time... The CO room looked very packed... The sec 1s were staring at us as we played esp. me bcuz of my proness (hahaha... jkjk...) and i actually made a stick fly out of my hand and the front part of the gong (the cloth like substance) come out... hahaha.... the sec 1s were laughing all the way... den, during feng nian ji, the sec 1s were covering their ears while i played mu yu (which i didnt really play that loud... they shld hear thomas's one... even pro-er...) Yar... think that's all...
On thur, we had a speech by Mr. Yap... He said that we shld take lit as it would give us a basic foundation and he gave an anecdote about himself and other HODs during a course where they were supposed to come up with a metaphor for themselves as leaders... The other HODs were staring at each other, not noe-ing wat to do... Mr. Yap knew exactly wat to do and he used fire and water as his metaphor...
Then, on sat, we had newspaper collection... It was a fun day where we went to houses and asked them to donate newspapers for charity... I learnt a few things...
1. How to tie newspaper bundles with raffia string (did i spell it correctly??)
2. How to ask ppl for bao zhi...
3. How to work in a large grp (co-operate to make sure no one goes to the same house 2 times)
4. How to work with two slackers... (refering to kj and wj... oops... hahahaha... jkjk... no offence)
Yup... So that was newspaper collection... It was a fun day and we enjoyed it fully...
Then, on sat, during Weiqi training, I beat someone i dont noe (his name is guan bo) and now ive got 4 points out of 5!!! Isn' t that juz brilliant?? It's the same no. of points as FCC lah (But his is 4/4)... hahaah... so proud... But really, im very proud of my achievement... The onli match i lost was rather close and anywae i expected to lose that match bcuz he was pro...
Yes... and den to jiang... We did yi lun wen 2dae and i tried out something new... I wrote on my bag instead of the table!!! hahaha... it was quite nice actually... hahahaha... well, YH was sick so I would like to take this opportunity to ask her to take care and recover quickly... also, gilbert and i did a double as we recited our points for the "debate" on whether money or health was more important... Wanen and Mark betrayed us... boo hoo... hahahaha.... anywae, wanen told me that she was taking a test to enter TJC... Well, once again, I wish her good luck... hahahaha... she was wearing her unifor 2dae as well (it's green), so Wen Rui called her grass... ahahahahaha... i said her uniform looked nice and she said i was being sarcarstic... walao... hao xin mei hao bao... ahahaha... actually, i WAS sarcastic... oops....
Yup, that's the most important of happenings this weekend... Other activities included normal lessons, oral comm meeting etc... But for now... BYE...
