RISE concert

yup, so it ended yesterday, and with a bang too.

after weeks of long practices (i mean 1 week of long practices), we finally pulled it off! yay!

ok. so it began last friday with the first rehearsal in which i was screwed real bad in. But after that, it got better and better for me but not much for the percussion as a whole.

we kept getting screwed by Mr. Sze for our incompetence in counting... lol. looking back, i must say it really wasn't our fault. Given the little number of rehearsals and all of us performing in an english orchestra for the first time, it took us time to adapt, especially since the songs we were playing weren't exactly the simplest...

but i must say that it was a good experience.

I got to know a lot more friends like those in RISE. People like Jon Chow, Min Jian are really hilarious. lol. all that crap about selling the timp to the taxi driver, eating the timp and ahhh... all the dumb stuff. haha... really funny. den of course, i got to play with a lot of friends like Jinghui, Lumpy, Zhiyi, Ben Wee, Conan, Zhao Kai etc...

I got to play with RIMBperc people and Bernard! haha. all very fun and cool people. haha. all the fun we had chatting during practices and moving instruments up and down. seemed so tiring then but looking back, it was fun! (:

I got to play some pieces which i wouldnt even have dreamt of playing. haha. didn't even know that young person's guide to the orchestra is actually the name of a piece...

Yeah! the percussion SECTION! IMBA OWNAGE PWNZ!!! haha. a very nice and hilarious group.

Starting with:

James. haha. doesn't really talk a lot except about food. very nice guy to have around though, especially if you're carrying instruments.

Kenneth. YEAH! haha. very nice person who roars at people who touches RIMB instruments in the wrong way. VERY VERY FUNNY! starting with the zzz jokes all the way to the zebra jokes and what not lol... HAHAHAHA!

Benjamin. really pro guy and as Bernard says, he's really musical. and i agree. sight read the whole of variation M xylo part. totally imba. probably the best percussion player around in RI.

Jerald. (you know why it's coloured black) well, you know him well enough... funny as usual.

Bernard. imba guy whose profession is PERCUSSION PLAYING. lol.

and Gibson who unfortunately couldn't come for the concert.

yup. so once again, a really great experience. in a short time, i got to know so many more friends, get to know so many more instruments, play with RIMB percussionists and Bernard.
