school has been ok so far. not very tough... physics quiz was quite all right. not very hard... there isn't much homework but on the long-term, there are many projects coming on. Still, i prefer the idea of studying each subject. (: have to start on bio and chinese though... SIGH.
mm anyway, learning journey day was superb. DAMN FUN! omg. went to school at 1030 to find 10 people or more already there discussing about class decor. I can't believe people are actually so enthu haha. usually, the idea of "class decor" is "4 or less aep people decor"... once again, this seems like some unique 4B thing... just like last year's interclass soccer.... we discussed for a while and came up with a few themes. it started off slow but after we broke up into grps to work on our individual parts, our work sped up tremondously. Kenneth and I were in the "random jungle decor" grp. I was like... ERRRR... damn, this one what to do. but, on the other hand, i thought that it was a good chance to train my creativity once again! so kenneth and i headed to popular bookshop to do something i love doing...
People usually think what they need before they buy it.
I like to look at things and think how they may help me before buying it or leaving it.
It's soooo fun! just going to popular, looking at all the random stuff there, thinking how may this be useful. In the end, we bought green cellophane or whatever u call it paper, a roll of twine, 2 flowers and chicken rice paper. At that time, kenneth and i didn't know what we were going to use all these for. we just thought: it should come in useful. I guess one important thing I learnt here was decisiveness to follow your heart. somehow, something in us told us it would be useful...
so, we went back to class, starting tying twine across the class. Then, Gia came along and suggested it would be more authentic to cross the twines. And then, it suddenly occurred to me, the twines could become spider webs! OH MY GOSH! i immediately remembered how Ying Jie used to draw his spider webs. 5-6 lines before connecting circular things around these lines. Why not use twines to "draw" this? And so, Kenneth and I began work on our BIG PROJECT. To tie a spider web which spanned the length and breadth of the classroom. At first, it looked near impossible. There were many problems like what if the tape wouldn't hold, where to put the twine, would it look nice, would it be too low... but we just did it, and in the end, it looked superb. it's just wonderful! (:
well, the other teams were working hard too. mosaic art team were hard at work cutting and gluing, shu kiat was busy crushing newspaper balls for his fountain and stuff. Before we knew it, it was already 1 and it was time for lunch. Had a really nice lunch of fried rice before it was time for learning journey. well, learning journey was FUN! played cards on the bus trip... Reached LTA and headed to the conference room. spent the rest of the time there. haha. it sounds quite boring but actually it was quite ok. nice chairs, nice facilities, nice information, nice view of people working from the conference room more than made up for it. Also, the informal atmosphere was great with all of us joking like "IMBA JINGHUI!". haha. funny. anyway, quite ok luh. better than expected. learnt a thing or two...
after learning journey ended, went back to school and played cards along the way. And another 4B miracle happened! we actually bothered to stay back to continue with class decor! oh my gosh. so there we were entering the SR block from the back entrance before finding our classroom locked. Ms. Tang called the security guard and that began a 5 min wait (which was spent playing cards). haha. but after that, we managed to persuade the security guard to open the door and let us work on our class decor. With the spider web done, Kenneth and I turned our attention to the rest of the materials. HMMM... chicken rice paper. We decided to do a tree at the front of the class! WOAH! so i began to draw a tree. den i realised i couldnt draw a tree for nuts so we called in the pro ben yong to draw a tree. what he drew was a bit sketchy but nice! So, kenneth and I took his drawing and we started to work on our tree! within 1 hour, we had completed the bark of tree, with the chicken rice paper! HOORAY! haha. it looked really nice...
den, on thursday recess, we decided to continue with our class decor! This time many others joined in to help with the tree. Kenneth and I were thinking... hmmm how to use the green cellophane paper... den we came up with idea of randomly cutting it into many pieces and pasting them piece by piece. we knew problems would arise such as whether it would take too much time, whether it would look nice and stuff. well, in the end, we just followed our heart and with the help of others, we started the tree making factory with the tearing of the tape being the limiting factor. haha. ok. that's just a joke. but we were rather efficient and our tree now stands nicely at the front of the class! (: YAY! i believe with the bees, the fountain and the spider web and the sun and grass better done up, class decor champions shld be 4B. ok. dont say so much first. later we dont get first. haha. but still, it's rather nice! im rather happy with how our class responded to this event. it was like on tuesday, we just randomly thought of class decor. People started volunteering and saboing. haha. but guess what! those who were saboed (most were...) still came to help out! that's so rare! haha. i must say this is the best class i've ever been in. maybe i wasn't too involved in 2H that's why... 2H was a great class and so was 6H. but 4B owns all.
therefore, my new catchphrase.
IMBA. OWNAGE. PWNZ. - 4B'08.
hope we win interclass decor! i know everyone in the class is hungry for the trophy! (:
